Last year, we carried out the structural engineering of the prefabricated concrete façade for the ‘Holland Park Tower 6’ project in Diemen, commissioned by Byldis.
Scaffold-free
The façade consists of prefabricated concrete 3D sandwich façade elements. These elements form part of the main load-bearing structure and come fully finished with all architectural cladding. This allows construction to proceed without scaffolding, and the façades are immediately wind- and watertight.
Because the elements are three-dimensional, this presents several challenges. These relate both to the structural engineering and the fitting of reinforcement, as well as to the actual manufacturing, transportation, and assembly.
