Model-to-Factory
“With a single push of a button, we distribute all information from the 3D model to the various woodworking machines and workstations.”
— Erwin Vos, Production Manager B-leaf
The Power of 3D
Traditionally, the production process is managed using 2D paper drawings. A draftsman creates these drawings based on the 3D model, after which the planner converts them into the correct file formats for each machine. He also prepares action lists for the workstations. In our opinion, this process can be faster and more efficient—so why not add all details and material information directly to the 3D model? This way, we skip 2D and keep 3D, 3D!
With B-leaf System Construction’s Model-to-Factory, the 3D model contains all the information needed for both employees and machines. The model is divided into producible elements and tasks. With a single push of a button, we distribute all information from the 3D model to the various woodworking machines and workstations—without any hassle involving different file formats.
Once a construction phase in the model is complete, the engineer orders the elements. The data is uploaded to the cloud, and on the production day, the machine files are automatically generated and loaded into the correct machines. This prevents errors caused by outdated versions and saves time. At each workstation, a clear 3D instruction with the building steps automatically appears. After production, the status of each component is written back into the model, providing real-time insight into the process at all times.
Flexibility & Efficiency
With this approach, all supplied elements from different projects can be produced together as desired.
This allows for better balancing of the production line and simplifies scheduling. By combining elements from various projects, we also reduce cutting waste. This not only saves costs but is also better for the environment.
With Model-to-Factory, we take a big step towards smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable production.
