Densification of housing demands new solutions, such as communal living within and around a park. Park Lievendaal is a case study neighborhood by B-invented.
Co-living in a park
The neighborhood is designed as a park with villas. The villas consist of four homes of 90 square meters each with three bedrooms. The two-story homes are interconnected in a cross shape, each with a spacious front garden and a dedicated parking space.
By seamlessly integrating gardens and the park-like layout of the neighborhood, a strong sense of cohesion is created among the residents.
The gardens are part of the park, and the park becomes an extension of the gardens.
B-invented, through its Villa41 solution for affordable social housing, conducted a study on a location in Eindhoven. The study demonstrates that the 4-in-1 villas are a viable social solution to create a compact neighbourhood in a park setting. The neighbourhood has a spacious feel and offers significantly more residential units than the historical social housing in this location. This approach allows for densification with ample housing without resorting to high-rise buildings.
The interconnection of interior spaces, front gardens, the park, and pathways cleverly contributes to densification, enabling the realization of affordable and sustainable villas. Villa41 is designed as a park with entirely wooden structures, making optimal use of bio-based materials.
