Innovation

We invest a lot of time in innovation to push boundaries. To explore new possibilities and opportunities, we are building eight homes in which we apply new techniques and solutions in the areas of:

Preparing in 5D > Producing in 2D
Fast and reversible construction
New connection methods
Acoustic quality
Finishing & appearance
Compact installations

Reversible Construction

The goal in these homes is for all elements to function fully reversibly. This means that elements must not be connected using screws or glue. Therefore, in this case, we use Hilti connectors for the horizontal joints, and the vertical connections are made with Rampa nuts.

Foundation

Hilti’s (HCW-i and HCW-s) are used to attach the element to the foundation and for the horizontal connections between elements. The element settles over the protruding bolts due to its own weight, creating a fast and strong connection. Thanks to this construction method, we can stack the elements very precisely and work efficiently.

Finishing

Since the element must remain reversible, the air and water seals also need to be designed flexibly. To achieve this, we use PVC foam tapes. These provide protection against rain and wind on the exterior of the facade, and ensure airtightness on the interior side.

Acoustic Quality

Naturally, the acoustic properties of these homes also play an important role. That’s why we developed a floor that rests on rubber pads, significantly reducing impact noise. Acoustic decoupling between the homes themselves has also been considered; for this, we use Delta-L Straviwood ModuLink.

3D Models

At B-leaf, we work and communicate using 3D models. This means our colleagues in the factory can always quickly and clearly find what needs to be produced, and view it in 3D. This simplifies the work and saves time when creating production drawings.

Information and Knowledge

Through close collaboration with our suppliers, we know exactly how to apply their materials and can quickly implement them into a model. Additionally, all construction disciplines are represented within the B-group, allowing us to easily switch between new ideas and solutions.
