Tallest in the Benelux
At 215 meters tall, Zalmhaven I is the tallest residential tower in the Benelux. The tower features nearly 500 apartments, including penthouses, over 33 townhouses, a private parking garage, offices, commercial spaces, a rooftop garden, and a restaurant overlooking the Rotterdam skyline.
The tower is entirely constructed from prefabricated concrete elements, including façade panels, interior walls, balcony slabs, stairs, and landings. These were assembled at an incredibly fast pace of one floor per week. To achieve such high speed, a specially designed climbing shed was used. This shed functions like a factory hall built on and around the tower. Inside this hall, one complete floor is constructed each week, after which the shed is jacked up one level, allowing the building cycle to start again.
